My first Milestone!
Hey Everyone:
I just wanted to share something that is a BIG DEAL to me!
My hubby and I went to Wichita this weekend for some shopping (we are looking for a new home computer) and I decided to go ahead and try on some new clothes. I have lost 46#'s and still hadn't bought any new clothes. I figured I didn't need to until the others were just falling off of me but a good friend told me that they were indeed falling off me and it was time for some new ones! So, I went to Lane Bryant and since I started in a firm size 28 I decided to try some 24's. I was very surprised when they were too big! I asked the attendent to please bring me some size 22's. When they were still too big I about died. I asked her again to bring some size 20's hardly believing it myself. I swear to you all when those 20's fit perfectly I just about cryed in the dressing room. I was so surprised and happy! After my sweet husband spent about $150 buying me new clothes (and bra's!) all I could think of for the rest of the day was "I am wearing a size 20!"
I know that I still have a long way to go but I had been so frustrated the past few weeks not seeing the scale move that the fact that I am FIVE SIZES smaller really hit home that I have lost a lot of weight and inches and that the surgery is working and that I am doing exactly what I need to be doing! I learned that I need to stop stressing out about the numbers everyday and focus more on the long-term results!
I also realized at the end of the day that my hubby and I had been walking through lots of stores and two malls for hours and I had was not exhausted (I never asked to sit down and rest) nor had I even thought once about stopping at the cookie, pretzel, cinnabon or Krispy Kreme stores! We never even ate until 11:00 at night! This was definitly a different shopping trip!
Thank you all for your support! I don't know what I would do without this site!
