I'm going to have to cancel my surgery. I got a call from BTC Insurance Benifits Department today. Turns out, my insurance is only paying $6,000 towards this surgery because I am going 'out of network'. The Bill TOTALS $47,000 less the 6,000 insurance will pay, makes my portion $41,000 I don't have that kind of money. I can not finance that kind of money. I just can't get the surgery because of that. So tomarrow, a heart wrenching day, I have to call and cancel my surgery. Talk about a devistating blow. I find myself sinking into a depression at warp speed. We'll see what happens. Maybe I can eventually find one someone in my network.

Debbie- I just read your second posting and my heart breaks for you! Appeal their decision girl! They are not the final word! If it is not offered the way you need in your area, etc you have the right to go elsewhere. I got hit with an anesthesiologist charge that was non-participating at 60% payout that I am appealing. I was unconscious, I had no choice in who they used! Don't give up! Renee

Oh Debbi, I can't imagine finally getting a date, and then for this to happen. Is there not any surgeons in your network that can do this procedure? If not, then I agree, you should appeal! I'll say prayers for you! cherie (waiting for a date)

Honey, what is the full name of your insurance company? Ask the company for a list of doctors that are in network that can perform the surgery. They have to have someone. I flew all the way to TX to have my surgery and the doctors office paid for my round trip ticket, hotel stay and lemo ride to the airport on the day of discharge. There HAS to be someone they can recommend for you, and if you have to go to a different city to have the surgery with a surgeon that is in network thats still cheaper than than paying 41 grand.
