Okay, here's the next question...What would you do differently in your WLS "journey" if you could go back???? OTHER THAN DOING IT SOONER!!!!!;)

I thought this would be a good thing for us posties to answer for the up and coming losers...If I could go back and redo anything it would be.....EAT MORE CHOCOLATE CAKE!!!!! I'm teasing (kinda);) I think I would have eaten a little lighter the last day, I wouldn't have gone to the chiropractor the day before surgery (give yourself a week), I would like to have been a little more organized for when I got home and I would have locked my husband out of the house until I could be there to SUPERVISE!!!!!

This is an easy one for me!!! If I could have done things differently I never would have touched a carb until I reached my goal weight. I know that carbs slowed my weight loss and prevented me from reaching goal...lol well the carbs didn't do it..my lack of willpower against the carbs did it!! My advice now to everyone...NO MILK, NO FRUIT and especially NO CRACKERS until you reach your goal. I'm living by this now..and doing AWESOME!!! A long time wls success story told me NO MILK from the beginning..and I did well staying away from it..but I didn't listen to her NO FRUIT and NO WHITE CARBS...she's at goal..maintaing for 7+ years now...I wish I would have listened..but instead I said...awww fruit is ok..it's natural sugar..it's good for you...and I justified the crackers whenever I felt the old eating triggers invade my thoughts. I've learned so much...*sigh* and still so much to learn! (((hugs))) and smiles =)))

Debbi, The beauty of this surgery is that many of the things you crave preop are of little interest to you post op. I was a Macaroni and Cheese Queen and havent' craved it at all in 28 months. I have tried it though..when I made some from our son...but two bites made me feel really really yucky. I'm so thankful for that!!! I miss fruit..ALOT and I eat cantaloupe occasionally but that's it..no other fruits for me. I never ever touch milk and never will again. Milk, refined sugar and soda are things of the past for me personally. I still struggle with the whole cracker thing...but I'm doing GREAT!!

I would not have had the surgery to begin with. I am 4 weeks post-op. I have lost 32.5 pounds, but am very unhappy. I am looking into having it reversed, if my insurance company will cover it. If not, I hope I win the lottery to have it reversed. Pam W.
