Hi Shannon, Welcome to the Kansas board. You will find all the info you need here and meet a lot of great people! Your lucky you are from Hutchinson there are some fabulous people from Hutch that can answer any question you could come up with! I'm from Dodge City but I "hang" with the Hutch crowd! I'm jealous that you are in Hutch, I wish I was much closer to be able to go to the wonderful support group there (and of course have lots of fun with Deanna on a more regular basis, LOL). HEY HUTCH GIRL!!!!! Welcome!!! PLEASE feel free to ask LOTS of questions..it is soooo important to go into this with OPEN EYES!!! As others have mentioned there is a local support group that meets on the 4th Thursday of the month at the Hutch Hospital, 1st floor(basement) room C. We usually start about 6:30ish and run to 8:30ish and then a bunch of us go to dinner...we really have a good time. There are patients from several different surgeons at the meetings so you can get alot of info...and it is always nice to talk to someone face to face and really see how we are living!!! There is also a support group meeting that I attend with my surgeon in J.C. on the 2nd tuesday of the month that you would be more than welcome to attend as well. The Docs are always there and could answer your questions for you. I'm sure you could get together with ANYONE on here and go with them to their support groups for their surgeons as well...just ask!!! PLEASE holler at me if I can help out in ANY way...BIG HUGS

Welcome Shannon. I had the surgery in Junction City in 3/02. They are terrific there. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to try to answer them. Going to the support group meetings in Hutch and Junction City are extremely helpful.
