i am currantly with bcbs of kansas and they do not approve the weight loss surgery i was wondering if someone can help me find a insurance company with individual plans that does approve the weight loss surgery if you do you can email me at [email protected] thank you so much

Anita- I also have BC/BS of Kansas and have been denied. I know that you could hire an attorney and for a fee he will help you with the appeal process. And even there, there's not much promise of it being covered. I know that BC/BS of Kansas is one of the few sub's that does NOT cover the surgery. Therefore most Bc/BS will cover it. Anthem, as we all have heard, the insurance co. that our wonderful Govenor, Kathleen Sebilius 'squashed' the merger, DOES cover the surgery, provided you meet certain criteria IE: co mobitites. I have heard of a lady who went to work for Dollar Tree to get their insurance, and they DID cover the procedure. Can't recall right off hand the name of the insurance company I know this isn't much help. There are also surgeons that will take payments, or the surgeon in Mexico who charges right at $8000.
