Financial assistance for Gastric Bypass

I have a dear friend that wants to have this surgery too and despite all appeals her insurance still denied her. Is anybody aware of resources that she could tap into for financial assistance to help pay for gastric bypass? I really appreciate any help. Thanks, Mary Beth

Hiya Mary Beth....I know very little about this but..have met some people who have received assistance through Voc-Rehab. I know people who have went to Mexico for surgery because they were self-pay...and they were extremely happy! I also know people who have taken out 2nd mortgages on their house, sold property, and even help fund raisers to finance wls. I was fortunate to have an insurance that paid..however, if I had not...I would have done ANYTHING to get the surgery. Best wishes to you friend! ((hugs)) and smiles =))
