WICHITA SUPPOURT GROUP?

I am REALLY needing to hang out with others who are or who have already had WLS!

I'm on the east side of town, but will travel! I am having WLS on Jan 19Th in Junction City. They have monthly meetings but I have had to work and have missed them


Anyone who would like to get together PLEASE let me know.
We can meet anywhere. (maybe even my house?)

I'm sorry I didn't see your post sooner.  I've been down for a while but I also live on the east side of town (Andover) and could use some local support.  Maybe we can get together sometime and good luck on your surgery next month.

I am SE (Mulvane) and could use some support as well!!!  I am not much on Solutions for Life, but they seem to have a good support group. However, I am sure I would have to pay if I wanted to attend any meetings. I like the more informal settings anyway . Count me in if you get some meetings going!!

There is a "meeting" a gal from here is starting and it will be in Winfield.
Kim and I are thinking of carpooling....one more would really make it fun!!!

For those of you within driving distance of Winfield, KS (south central), we're quickly moving forward with the support group. Here are the details:
Name: Winfield LIGHT Support Group (LIGHT: Losing Inches, Getting Healthy Together)
Purpose: To support those who wish to lose weight and get (and stay) healthy
When: 2nd Saturday of each month, 2:00 p.m.
Where: E-Free Church Library, 3725 E. 9th Ave., Winfield, KS
Leader & Contact Person: Mary Law, 620-229-8775 (Mary is in the process of becoming OH certified)
1st meeting: Sat., Dec. 13. Of those in attendance, one will receive a one-year's subscription to OH Magazine! Spread the word!

I am not interested in a structured "meeting" per-se but would be up for a casual get together every once and while.

In on the West side of Wichita and will have surgery next Tuesday (Jan 6th).  I'd love to get together for some informal chat time with others going through the same experience.  I went through SFL for my gastric classes but I'd like to be able to sit and talk with people rather than being talked at.  Has anyone started a group yet?  Are there specific days / times that work for everyone?  If people are still interested in the local area I don't mind setting something up or finding someplace for us to meet.  Maybe bi-monthly????  Please let me know suggestions.  I just found this forum and am really looking forward to supporting and receiving support as I go on this journey.
