I am just now seeing this...don't come here much cuz it's pretty dead. But yes they do the DS now. I asked Dr. Steward about it at my yearly check up in May.

I am waiting by the phone for my surgery date from Tallgrass. Dr. Stewart is my surgeon and he is revising my VBG to the DS.  They finally got my psych exam and that was the last step. Woohooo My Christmas present is going to be that date!

Well the phone finally rang. My date is january 29thThey had trouble co ordinating the schedule of the two surgeons. Because my hernia is so big Dr. Steward wanted another surgeon to assist. They said it will be about 6 hours long. I guess I have waited this long whats another 60+ days ...sigh...please keep in touch with me. You will be a month out when I go in. I will be interested in your recovery. Thanks

First of all, i am sorry you have to wait so long, because I'm going nuts and I'm only a month out. BUT, and this is a huge but (like mine...) At least they are taking precautions with you! I would rather see you have to wait a little longer so you can be healthy and get though this better with two surgeons. Better safe than sorry!
I will for sure keep in touch with you and keep you posted on surgery, recovery and also what to expect from the hospital and staff. Maybe it will help...in the mean time keep your head up..It will be here before you know it!
