Anyone go to Tall Grass support groups in Topeka?

I am considering going, but I have a couple questions. What kind of topics do you cover? Do you have to introduce yourself if you are new (I'm picturing it kind of like an AA meeting, "Hi, I'm Jamie and I'm a.....)? Do you have to sign up?

Any general information you could give me would be wonderful!

They usually talk about various issues that come up for post-ops...nutrition, vitamins, etc. Lots of topics relevant to us. You don' t have to sign up. I went back in June for the first time in 4 years, it was kind of nice to reconnect...although I forgot for July and August!!! They don't ask you to introduce yourself. Some post-ops do go and share their stories for the seminar for info seekers afterwards, but you're not required to do so.

Many people who have this surgery are bit on the shy side. Our support group will fit well no matter what your preference is. We do actually introduce ourself with just our name, the surgery type, and when we had our surgery. After that, it is pretty low-key in terms of feeling obligated to talk. In June, Valena actually came a few minutes later after we had completed the introductions, so I didn't want you to be shocked when you showed up. We are a very friendly group and you can get a lot out of support. I really hope you decide to join us. Please give us a try and we will try not to bite...well not too much.
