Wichita Support Group

I have been going to the Via Christi program at Solutions for Life. But I know that their are many local people who would like to have another option. I would attend a program that was not with Via Christi if one was availible.

Why don't we start one? If you would be interested let me know, I would prefer to meet bi-weekly during the week at say 6:00 pm. Let me know what you all think, let's do this.

Life is a journey, don't waste the trip.

I think that it would be good to have a group that was open to all who have had WLS. I see no need in limiting who can or can not attend. That is my thoughts anyway.

I am in also.  My daughter and I are having surgery and we would like to belong to a support group also.  We are having our surgeries done in Oklahoma and they have a great support group with a lot of people and it is open to anyone.  It really ticks me off that Solutions for Life is being so closed-minded about opening up their support group.

Lets see how many people we can get. And then we can set a time and place for the first meeting.

Kim, it's pretty cool that you and your daughter will be going through this together.  Kind of a mini support group.

Count me in.  Evenings work so well for me.
Need to work on the where.

I will give it some thought and let you know what I think of.

This is a great idea.  Let's make it a reality.

This is just what I have been looking for!  I just moved to Wichita in May from Kansas City and there we had a wls support group that was put on by OH people a nurse ran ours.  I checked out Solutions for life here and was very disappointed that they wanted me to pay like a thousand dollars just to be a part of their support group.....NOT!!!!

Count me in, evenings are great for me too.

My daugther and I just had our DS surgeries on the 14th. We would be very interested in a support group that was open to all types of surgeries. Count us in!

I also am going to Via Christi program; have been unhappy with how long it takes to get surgery date. I finally have one it is Auguts 12 and I am so happy  and scared at the same time. I would also be interested in another support group who knows I might attend both. Dr Lancaster is doing my surgery.
