Hello!  Well, I've completed my "three month medically supervised diet"--basically keeping a food journal and checking in with the doctor once a month.  I didn't do well keeping to a strict diet, but I limited portions and did better on drinking less pop and cutting out snacking, so I crept down the scale 1-3 lbs a month, so she was happy. Now I guess I just sit around and wait for Tallgrass to accept Medicare patients...

Tallgrass takes Medicare patients. They didn't a while back because for Medicare to pay you have to have the surgery done at a Bariatric Surgical Center of Excellence. At the time there wasn't one in Kansas. St. Francis is now a COE and they are doing Medicare patients again. Unless they changed their minds but they seemed pretty committed a year ago and they did my gallbladder surgery last year. If not then Dr. Hornbostel in Sedalia MO takes Medicare patients. He did mine in Oct of 2006.
