just checking in....
Hey, everyone! Just checking in--been absent from this board a few weeks. I am so sick of thinking about my weight and had to take a break. I'm trying hard to watch portions and stick to one helping, etc. Maybe it's working--I'm down by 12 lbs in a couple months. Pretty soon I'll have lost just enough to not qualify for surgery by BMI but not enough to make a difference. Frustrating...

Way to go...12 pounds before WLS is just great. Some of the toughest weight I lost included those pre-op pounds. Okay, truly, these last 15 pounds are giving me a run for my money.
Just keep working it, and avoid carbs as much as you can. Keep those protein levels up there too to avoid hunger and you will continue to do great. Had I known those two things before WLS, I could have lost more than the 36 I did.
You can do this...just stay focused. Your surgery is just around the corner and anything you can get off before is just that much better afterwards....look at this as a jumpstart.
Best wishes.

I use the choc. protein whey drink from Walmart. I add a squeeze of herseys choc. syrup, the unsweetened kind, a pack or two of splenda and it is pretty good. i blend it good. I think the choc syrup helps.
after some time off the sweet other stuff it taste great.
good luck and keep up the wt loss. if I can do it anyone can. Believe me.
