New to Kansas

I just wanted to introduce myself, I just pcsed from ft, sill oklahoma to ft. riley Kansas my hubby is active duty military, i am now gonna have to find a dr. here who will do some follow up care with me and was wondering who all you army wives see,, by the way I guess I am one of those few people who is absolutely loving kansas............ i look forward to meeting some of you in person.. I dont know anyone here in kansas yet and am feeling a little lonely.. i am on aim as armydrillsgtwife and yahoo as mikeandjennihoover im me.... jenni

Hello! I live in Topeka. I don't know of any docs right around you (I know there are some), but there is also a great bunch here at Tallgrass. It's only about 60 miles away. I can't imagine how you military folks get used to moving all the time! My hubby wants to move away, but I will admit the thought scares me at times. I am afraid I would have lots of trouble making new friends!!!

Hi and welcome.  I live 2 hrs. away from Tallgrass in Topeka.  I have been very happy there.  I went to some things in Junction City wt. loss.  The people were really nice but just now have started the band surgery.  They really didn't support it and all they talked about was RnY  I am glad I checked other places and heard some good equal responses on both so I could make a decision that was good for me.

 I'm new here and just starting the journey so I can't help you with a doctor, I live in MO, just thought I would say hi, and wish you (both) luck living in ks, if you ever feel lonely and need to vent drop me a line, B

Hi Jenni, Although I live 4 1/2 hours away, I strongly suggest the doctors at Geary Community Hospital in Junction City. I know it's just down the road from you. My surgeon was Dr. Bollman, he is fantastic! I also had a couple of different doctors for my personal care not having to do with my surgery while I was there. Each of the doctors I came into contact with was just wonderful! Geary Community Hospital is a wonderful hospital as well.  Welcome to Kansas!!! Hugs Theresa

Hi Jenni,     I am from Lawton, Ok.  Well that is where I grew up.  I was an army brat.  I have lots of military friends.  I have lived in KS for a while.  It is ok and I am glad you like it.  There are 3 doctors in Junction City, Ks.  It is the LivLite clinic in the Geary Community Hospital, that is where I am having my surgery.  I hope this helps you.

Hi! I just wanted to say "Welcome to Kansas!" I live right next door to you here in Ogden (you know, the little town you have to slow down for on your way to Manhattan). We use to be an Army family too, but now my husband is a civilian employee for the DOD. I love Kansas too! When DH got out of the military we moved to Brooklyn, NY for awhile but I made him bring us right back here! Of course I was born and raised here...

Not sure about the Livlite people for follow up care, I'm a Tallgrass girl myself. Good luck to you and welcome to the neighborhood!

   Welcome to the Sunflower state!  I live in Emporia, KS and use Tallgrass in Topeka.  My surgeon was Dr. Bernita Berntsen and I have been nothing but pleased.  I haven't had a bit of trouble since being banded.  I've only had 2 fills, so I realize that I'm still technically a "newbie", but so far, Tallgrass has been great.   Take care!
