wondering about surgery after Christmas

I meant to ask this in my last post.  I am wondering if I can't get surgery before Christmas, if any of you think it would be really hard, having gone through the pre op diet, etc. to try and do it over Christmas.  I had hoped to do it over Thanksgiving or Christmas so not to miss much work.  We have quite a lot of time off after Christmas.  But I just don't know,  we will have a house full for approx. 5 days around the holidays.

Hi . My only reply would be how is your will power ? If you think missing out on all the candy and cookies  will bother you it might be hard. I can say though for 3 weeks after surgery none of that bother me at all. I was not hungery and had no problem with any food . I guess it depends on how close to the holidays you have it I personaly would vote for thanksgiving . I had mine in may .  I have lost 45 lb .so far  I do indulge in birthday cakes and some ice cream now. I lose  at 1 lb  aweek. I would do better but has you can tell my will power is limited but I don,t eat has much .  Paul

Hi, My preop is 12/11 and RNY surgery on 12/20.  I get Thanksgiving this year, but sadly not much Christmas.  I am trying to get all my holiday stuff done early so that I can just coast through after surgery...hopefully.  It seemed to work out better for my husband to take off around that time from work.  Take care.....be looking for you on the loser's bench.

I am not worried about not eating the cookies, etc.  I just want to feel good.  I don't want to be sore or lightheaded, etc.  We always have so much fun together so don't want to miss out.
