I did well in the hospital and was fine the first day home. (Wednesday) Thurs night I woke up with horrible pain in my lower right abdomen. Last night my husband took me to the ER where I was given a Cat Scan. They thought it might be my appendix. After all the tests were done they decided it was fluid build up from the massive bruising from the shots I was given. Did anyone else have any similar problems?

Oh Crys, I'm sorry to hear about your trip to the ER.  Where you able to speak to Dr. Dort about it?  I can't remember if you were having RNY or LapBand?

Thanks.....I had RNY and yes, I called Dr Dort during the day and they suggested a suppository. It didn't help with the pain. So about 10pm I called back and the Dr on call said I should go to the ER. They were very good there. Started an IV right away and gave me some WONDERFUL pain meds. It really helped. The Loritab I have at home just doesn’t cut it. I guess this too shall pass!!!

Crys, I did have alot of brusing from the navel down. I was told that it was because the instrument that they use at that site does not have a cutter on it and they have to pu**** throught the muscle. It did take about three weeks for that brusing to go away. I don't think that it hurt all that much, however the further I get out the less I remember about the bad stuff. Glad to hear that you did well at the Hospital. Like you said this two will pass.  Best wishes, Mike

Thanks you guys! I really am feeling a little better tonight. I called Kimberly and she was kind enough to talk me through some things. I should have done it sooner, called someone. It really did make me feel better. I had just done so well in the hospital, no problems at all. And expected life to be back to somewhat normalcy by now. Oh yea, I just had my insides re-routed, what is normal?? Right! HA HA!!!! I will try to make it to the Tues meeting.  Thanks Mike for the info on the surgery itself. It was my nurse who assumed it was from the shots. It does help to know what I am experiencing is not just me! Thanks again………..

Crys ~  I am glad that you are feeling better.  Sometimes just talking to someone that is going through the journey is what it takes.   Anytime you need it just ring.  Kimberly
