HI THERE GUYS AND GALS!  Tell us about yourself and your surgery or your wait for surgery or yourself or your family or just share anything you want and let's get to know each other better!  I had RNY 6 months ago at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, KS.  I have done very well and lost about 113 lbs, blood work is good and feeling much better than I have for months.  I am a wife, mother and grandmother of two beautiful girls ages 9 and 3.  The girls live in the Seattle area so I miss them a lot but we keep in touch and visit every chance we get.  I love plants and gardening and hope to be able to garden again someday.  I also would love to be able to go for a long walk and just enjoy more things that others take for granted.  Let us hear about you and what are your plans for the weekend?  Let's get this board going.  Kat

Not much is new here. I'm new on my journey and I'm learning alot. I go in on Monday for my first band fill and I am scared. I am very skwimsh with needles and I'm not looking forward to it. I guess I'll just have to put on my big girl panties and deal with it.  As for me personally, I've been married to a wonderful man for 7 years and we dated for 6 years prior to that (high school sweeties).

We have two little ones. A son 3 years old and a little girl 11 months. They are my main reason for having WLS. I want to be an active and healthy Mommy.  As for plans for the weekend, my mom is going to watch the kids Saturday night so me and DH are going to have a date night. There is a local itailian restaurant who was very accomidating to me right after surgery. I think that I'm gonna get really dressed up and surprise him with dinner and a movie.  Other than that I'm just going to try to stick to my eating plan and I want to go buy some exercise dvd's. UGHHH!!! I've decided that I'm going to start exercising early in the morning while the kiddos are sleeping. So what's everyone elses big weekend plans???

Hello ~    I had surgery on June 18th and I am now doing fine.  I had a few problems nothing big just allergery to medications and a bladder infection.   I am down about 21 lbs and I can really tell in my butt.   It was nice to see my jeans have a baggy butt for once.  I am a mother of two boys, one will be a senior this year and a junior.   I am looking forward to the next two years enjoying the boys last days of high school.  Football season is around the corner and I am ready to watch them play.   This year when they do the senior walk, I can actually say that I will be walking thinner and I am excited!!!  Take care all......

Hi Kimberly!  Glad to see you posting, maybe we can encourage others, at least we will give it a try.  Congrats on the weight loss, you are doing well.  I love anything that is baggy after all the years of being "fluffy".  Two boys, in high school, I should say you need all the energy you can get.  For our daring weekend we plan to do cleaning and yard work.  I have got to get this done as I am leaving to go to Seattle soon.  Also need to have a garage sale soon and get rid of half of the stuff out of my garage.  SOOOOOO...where are the rest of you???  Kat

Hey Ladies

I am just getting started too. Had my surgery a little over 2 weeks ago. Kimberly and I are surgery buddies.

I have been married for 26 years to a great guy, I have an awesome daughter who is 23 and a very sweet son who is 18. I have a son in law who is the best son in law ever and a very precious 3 year old granddaughter and another grandbaby on the way in January. Very excited about the new addition....Love them grandbabies...

I am a huge KC Chiefs fan and can't wait for football season to start. Besides OH, I am addicted to NFL Network..hehe Ready to start the chili brewing for those Sunday games...

Probably won't take a big vacation this year since I had my surgery, but would love to plan a weekend get away
(hmmmmm Maybe a Chiefs game!!) sometime soon.

Don't like summer much, hate the heat... Maybe when I can wear less clothes I won't mind it so much, but being out in 90 degree heat in jeans isn't much fun.

I go back to work on Monday.. UGH!! I am very thankful though that I feel like going back and I do miss my friends...

Looking forward to all my fall/winter clothes not fitting... looks like a shopping trip may be in my future too... YAY!!

Hugs everyone

Donna

Hey Donna! Glad to see you post!  Sounds like you are still doing great.  I love that baggy clothes feeling as it is all new to me.  Shopping for new clothes is something I only did recently for a few outfits to take with me on vacation.  Since I will be at my daughter's house I figured I can just wash them as needed.  I hate spending too much when I am hoping they will be too big at some point in the future. My best friend. who now lives in Nashville, is one of the world's biggest Chief's fans.  I found a Chief's hat for her Beagle and she went bonkers.  I can't wait to get a picture to see how it looks.  They flew in last winter to see a game and had a great time.  I am not a football fan but am forced to watch all 49er's games as my hubby is a transplanted Californian. I don't envy you going back to work so soon but am sure you will do ok as you have done so well so far.  Just remember to be easy on yourself and not push yourself too hard.  Maybe you can go do some clothes shopping in KC by the time you make it to a game.  Sounds like a winner to me! Keep in touch and let us know how things are progressing for you! Kat

Hello everyone.  My name is Sheila and I live south of Topeka.  I am currently going through all the steps.  I went to my first seminar in June.  I have been thinking about having WLS for several years and I have done my research.  Anyway my BMI is 47 and I am miserable with Heart condition from Redux use, diabetes type II, gout, arthritis in my legs and back, hypertension, and currently being tested for sleep apnea.  I have had my Psych eval and passed.  I have seen the surgeon for my first consult and he said I would be a perfect candidate for the Roux en Y due to my diabetes.  I am currently waiting for a date to do a sleep study to rule out sleep apnea than it is on to insurance approval.  I am very scared that they are not going to approve.  I have Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama through Healthsouth.  Please keep me in your prayers that they approve me.  A little about me, I have been a nurse for approx 20 years.  I have been married for 22 wonderful years.  My husband and I have 3 beautiful children.  Erik 21, Eddie 20, and Heather 17.  I will soon add a daughter in law in April 2008.  Were going to Maui for the wedding.  I would love to be a lot smaller and to feel better for this trip.  I love the Chiefs.  I love to read, do scrapebooking, gardening, and most of all spending time with my family and friends.  Thank you for all your support.  Your WLS Friend, Sheila
