Hello Everyone ~  I have been home since Wednesday but finally made it on here to post.   I had a few complications in the hospital but nothing that was major.   I had surgery on Monday a.m.   I woke up in post op dry heving.  I did that till 400 p.m.  Thank the lord my PCA pump was not available til after 400 for some reason.   However, the nurse taking care of me realized that it was the morphine that was making me sick.   So when my pump did get there they had me on different pain medication.  Then I was itchy all night long and my face turned cherry red.  That was fun...NOT!   But what the problem was they found out, I was allergeric to one of the anti-botics that they were giving me.   SSSSOOOOO....... after we got all those little things out of the way, I was released on Wednesday and I am home.   I am having some little problems with liquids but I predict it will get better.   I don't like alot of sweets and almost all jello, juice and popsiscles as you know are sweet in taste.   I am so yicky with the taste that I am getting limited on what I feel like having.   Broth is ok but chicken broth almost made me vomit from the taste for some reason....go figure.   I have been up and around for a while, taken a small walk with the dog, trying to choke down some watered down juice now and I think I am going to lay down for a while.   It is just amazing how tired you get from doing so little.      I wish everyone well.     KD

KD, Good to see you are doing well, at least now.  Sorry about all the little complications you had and I know they are not little after having major surgery!  I have been watching for your post. Eating will get better soon and getting in all the liquids does get easier as well.  It just takes a while for all things to come together.   Here is hoping that all continues to go well and you will get more energy as everyday goes by. Take care and let us know how you are doing. Kat Donna, So good to see you posting and that you are doing well! Hang in there girl! Kat

Hi there! I am new to this message board. A friend in Topeka recommended I visit this site, and I love it! I live in Hutchinson, and would love to be able to attend a support group! I know there is one somewhere in Wichita, but where, and when?  I have not had the surgery yet, but am set for August 6th in Columbia, MO. My insurance would not pay anywhere closer, but I do have a lot of confidence in my surgeon and the facility. They have been super!  I sure hope you're feeling up and at 'em now. I have several friends who have had this surgery, and I am really anxious for it. My friend in Topeka, who lost 150 lbs, looks so fabulous and says she can't believe how good she feels, though admits the hardest part for her was the 10 days of liquid only. I figure it is ten days out of my life on my way to my NEW life! I am READY!!!!  God bless all of you! It is good to know there are those on this site to support me, and I, in turn, hope to be able to support and inspire as my journey begins!
