I am seriously considering lap band surgery, however........

I am going to star****ching my new grandson and wonder what the restrictions are for lifting after lapband surgery........can anyone answer this for me? Thanks

I had lap RNY. It's more invasive than banding and my limitations were not more than 10lbs for 2 weeks. After that normal activities.

I had Lap Band and I think the restrictions are about the same...nothing more than 10 lbs. for two weeks. I FELT better than that before two weeks, but your port is attached to your abdominal wall and I think its just safer to follow the guideline so you don't end up with a flipped port. Not fun. I had my surgery on Thursday and was back to work by Monday, but I don't do any lifting. Just a lot of typing! Your doc will have an exact answer for you. Each one seems to have their own guidelines. ~Tiffany
