Hey all, This is my first post here. I don't have a date yet, but it's open to me. I have chosen to get my surgery done in Mexico because I am self-pay. I am moving to Washington state some time before May, but in case I need a fill while in Kansas, does anybody know of a doctor who does fills for Mexico lap band patients? Thanks! Lindsey

Hello, I am also living in Wichita and going to Mexico to get the Lap Band. I have tried to contact several doctors toask if they do fills. Most of them wont because it was done in Mexico. I know of Dr Brent Steward in Topeka, I have not tried to contact him yet. I will let you know if I hear of anyone else. Also your doctor should have a list of fill doctors. Who are you going to?? hi Kelli! Well, since I posted I have learned that the company Fill Center USA has an open office here in Wichita, even though we're not marked on the map on their website. If you do a search from your zip code we come up, miraculously! Also, my doctor's coordinator gave me 2 other names, one in Mission, one in Topeka, that did the fills for patients like us 6 months ago. She told me to call them and check if they're still doing them, but I'm going to go to Fill Center USA anyway, so I haven't bothered. I can give you those names if you want! I have chosen Dr. Alvarez for my surgery. You?

I have never thought of this previously. But my insurance company has a exclusion and I have a good job with the state, but the situation with the state reversing course on this issue doesn't look promising. How much is this in Mexico? How safe? What's a fill?

If you are looking for a somewhat local less expensive dr. I am from ks and am traveling 140 miles (about 2 hrs) to Edmond OK (weightwise.org) and it's 15,000 which I know is still alot but much less then some. The Bariatric Hospital is wonderful and they have a great team. This price includes all surgery pre and post op care and 1 year fills and follow up care when you add all this together thats really good. Good luck to you, Amanda

The cost of the lap band and 2 years of fills and follow-ups in Topeka through Tallgrass Bariatric is just under 13,000. I would check into that so you don't have to drive so far. Twyla

Hi, My name is Liz and I will be going to Mexico also. I don't have a date yet. Hopefully will have one in the next 2 weeks. Shooting for end of May. I will be going to Dr. Jose Rodriguez in Ciudad Acuna. it was the best price I could find. I found a fill doc here in Topeka. It is at TallGrass and they take Mexican bandsters. It costs 250 for the initial visit. 150 for fills and I think she said 250 under flouro. I am a physician myself and have been researching this thing for about 6 months...I have heard too many horror stories about not having fluoro.......so with each fill, I will. Hope this helps. Do you know who you will be using in Mexico????? Liz

Hi , I went to the same doctor as you the end of Sept. 07 . I have been going to coffeyvill for my fills and he doesn't use flouro unless he thinks he needs to . My first fill was in Nov only had three  drops and didn't help much . I went back Jan. 14 and he put 1cc in starting thurseday night I  started vomiting all night . Thought I might have the flue but since then I havn't been able to  eat and this morning I threw up my pills . Do you think I could be I got to much of a fill or  something is wrong ? Does anyone know if anyone does fills in Wichita . Thanks.
