You're better off starting small and then working your way up. The attention we need to start with is the Kansas legislature. NO insurance company in Kansas covers wls. State employees don't qualify either. This state is set up to discriminate. The first thing we need to do is fix things at home first. Once that's done we have the full attention of Kansas representatives and senators, who will then take it to their colleagues in congress. I'll sign your petition of course I just think we should start at home.

I also think this petition should address ONLY morbid obesity. I say that because if we ask for anybody who wants to lose a few pounds is covered, then the economics become so severe that law makers will shy away. This petition it would appear is supporting insurance companies paying for weigh****chers and the like. If every girl out there that wanted to lose 10-15lbs had an insurance claim it would amount to billions or more. Let's be more focused and help the morbidly obese who will die if they don't get help.

Thanks for the advice. I aggree it should only be morbidly obese. Actually this petition was something that I found online, I did not start the petition. I do believe in workings small first. I have been in contact with all my local legislators. You can read the thread titled "Call for Action!" on this page if you want to read more about it. I encourage everyone to contact our statehouse!
