has anyone had there lap-band done in Lenexa. My mom did and now has to have it removed because of a staff infection from day one. she does not want to go back to these people because they seemed totally confused. i would like to hear from people with good experiences with their surgeons. thanks.

Hi. My Mom went to OMISH in Lenexa. My Mom is looking for a new surgean. She had to have her port removed Friday and now has over 1'' hole in her stomach to let the infection drain. Bless her heart , she has done so well and wants to have her port put back in but not by OMISH. Any recommendations?

Have you checked into the KC Bariatric Center (Dr. Hohen and Hitch****) I had RYN with Hitch**** he was great.

My daughter had lap band surgery at MISH with Dr. K. She was wonderful. The only problem she has had since was she had appendicitis and went to North Kansas City Hospital to be treated and the surgeons were so afraid of the lap band that they allowed her appendics to burst. Dr. K ended up taking them out. I hope Dr. K is not the one who dealt with your mother, as we found her and her staff to be very good.

Hello, I am currently consulting with Dr. Joseph Petelin. His office is right next to Shawnee Mission Medical Center. He is excellent and I believe the first to perform the Laprascopic surgery. His staff has been very helpful in getting all of the paperwork submitted to the insurance. I'm just wanting for my approval letter. Good luck to you.
