Well I'm suppose to be on my 6 month Dr. supervised diet...and I've had to quit smoking. One out of two isn't bad, HUH??? I've been able to kick the smoking (which is a HUGE accomplishment for me!) Trouble is I'm trying to put anything and EVERYTHING into my mouth instead!!! I've got to go weigh in a week from tomorrow...and I haven't lost ANYTHING!!! I've not gained, however, which I guess is a blessing. The first thing I'm saying when I step on that scale is..."I'll have you know I've not had a cigerette to my lips since Nov. 27th!!!" Any words of advise out there for dieting and quitting smoking at the same time??? I'd sure love to hear it! I'm smelling things again...and OHHHHH food is tasting better than ever!!! Dabnabit anyway!!!!

Have you considered taking up some sort of needlewor****upies the hands and mind instead of a cigarette. I was just reading somewhere, that the areas affected in the brain, whether it is food, cigarettes, alchol, drugs, are the same receptors (dopamine) that are activated by endorphins(pleasure). It is really hard to redevelop what gives you pleasure, outside smoking or food. Maybe it can be shopping or surfing the internet until the craving passes. I have also heard of using the smell of vanilla when the craving starts. But what do you do with your hands Best of Luck Jacque

Ooooh good idea, take up crocheting or something. It's fun. Also what i would do, is everytime i wanted to eat, do something else, like jog in place for 3min, or take a walk around the block, or drink some water. Something i would always do was brush my teeth. Didnt want to get my teeth dirty by eating something. My support group meeting gave me a list of things to do. Im on my way to a bachelorette party, but i'll post them when i come back. Take care!!!
