Well I had an appointment today with my primary care doctor to visit with her about the possibility of WLS. She was very supportive and thought it was well worth considering! She contacted Dr. Early's office for me, and I've got to attend the seminar early next month. (Guess they only hold one a month and Nov. has already passed.) Anyway, the ball is rolling and I'm excited. My doctor did say she wasn't sure what the surgeons would say about my long history of DVT's...it could be a possibility that I wouldn't be considered as a candidate for surgery because of them. But on the other hand, she said it might be all the more reason I COULD be a candidate, as my weight is such a risk for blood clots, also. We shall see, and I'm praying they say yes.

Thanks Tammy. I see you had Dr. Dort...that's who I'm hoping for as a surgeon if all goes as planned. He's on my insurance provider list. I'm assuming since you went through your surgery here in Wichita you went through the Solutions for Life? Did your insurance cover any of the classes and preoperative tests, etc???

Dr.Dort is wonderful!! Yeppers, I went through Solutions. As far as my insurance, they paid for everything BUT the classes and the blood work when I was doing all my testing. Those classes were a pain in the booty to get paid for. You don't have to pay for them as you go, but I highly recommend paying something every week. I didn't, and coming up with the $1,045 all at once was mighty hard!!
