Hi, i'm new too
Hi my name is Trish, and I just got approved through my insurance to do the gastric bypass, i'll be using the liv-lite program located in Junction City, KS, I live in Manhattan. My insurance will cover 90%. I'm still doing my research on the surgery. I at first considered lapband, but they told me they dont' do it anymore since a lot of peole weren't losing a lot with it. A lot of people i know has had the bypass surgery, my mom included. Right now im supposed to be sending out information to my former doctors. I'll be doing that on tuesday, since I had no time this weekend. Anyways just wanted to say hello!!
Trish
Hi, just wanted to say good luck and congrats on getting approved. I have heard lots of positive things about livlite in JC too. Pam is so nice to get information from too.
I only know of a couple people that have had the bypass, but they both seem to be doing good. How is your mom and your friends doing? I am always curious to know, especially if they went to livlite in JC, which is where I want to go.
I have heard with the lapband, you can stretch out the stomach easier resulting in slower weight loss or weight regain. Not sure if that is true or not.

Hey everyone thanks for the welcome. I attend my first Support group meeting on tuesday i believe it is. But i also keep telling myself it's wednesday, i just need to double check. I've been researching this place a lot and ive been writing down a lot of questions to ask.
My mom did liv-lite in junction, as far as i know she hasnt had any problems what so ever. Every now and then we'll go out to eat and she'll order a plate of food knowing full well she can't eat it all, or she's going to get sick later. She's what i call an attention getter. So i've stopped lecturing her, because she'll learn.
My other friend Sam, got hers done in topeka, ks, and my other friend got hers done in nebraska. She was like number 12 i think she said. SHe was one of the very first to get it done.
As i look at peoples posts and messages i get more and more excited to do this. I know it's going to result in a new lifestyle.
I work at KSU. The state of Kanasas employee program has an exclusion on WLS and any weight loss treatments. I haven't even tried yet, because I thought there was no point in trying. Now I think I will just keep up with the process and go through the process of getting denied. And then fight fight fight. I have been contacting the commission that writes the medical coverage for state employees as well as state congressmen/women and state senators, state insurance commissioner, and governor.
I do still have a shot at another job, where the insurance does cover, but I woudl have to take at least a 2 dollar an hour pay cut.
Don't know what to do at this point.
When is the next meeting? I work nights.
Chad
THe next meeting is the 2nd tuesday in December. You should really talk with livlite. there was another girl there and her insurance didnt do it either. From what they said, livlite sounds like they will fight for you untill the fat lady sings. weird analogy she used, but it's what she said. If you have other medical problems, they'll bring that forward as well of how the surgery can help you. Seriously chad, talk to them.
