Frustration over 10 day liquid pro-op diet and beyond

I am so frustrated with this liquid diet, my Lab-Band surgery is on Monday 9/11. I know I can make it the next couple days but what about for the next 3 weeks? Anyone have any ideas on things to eat after surgery (if I see one more cup of broth i'm going to scream!).

Not something you'd want to eat a LOT of, but when you seriously need to crunch, the clear fruit sugar-free lifesavers or Jolly Ranchers can be a real lifesaver (no pun intended ). Also diet apple juice, jello jigglers (more texture than regular plain jello). hope this helps and good luck!

Hi Laura, just wanted to say congrats on your surgery tomorrow. I never had to do a liquid diet so I am not good for any advice to you. Although after surgery I really didn't feel like eating much...atleast for the first week. Hopefully will will be able to drink protein shakes and you can mix up the flavors so you don't get so bored? Good luck! Bambi

Hey Laura! Today is the big day! I'll be thinking about you and we'll all be waiting to hear from you when you get home! After my band surgery I had cream of wheat, jello, broth (strained broth from just about anything, really), milkshake, watered down mashed potatoes - anything you can think of to put in a blender. LOL Just remember the consistency is the key. Anything you can think of that sounds good might be able to be thrown in a blender and mushed up so you can eat it. Good luck today!

Hope you're doing well after your surgery. I just had mine on the 31st and the liquid diet wasn't that big of a deal the days following surgery. I concentrated on sugar-free popsicles, water mixed with Crystal Light, & diluted fruit juices.
