Stephanie, Don't give up. I don't know your exact situation--I'm not on the Kansas boards very often at all. I too could not afford my surgery. I had called Liv-Lite and found out it would cost $60,000 if I paid CASH!! I didn't have any insurance. I figured paying cash would be cheaper, but I guess I was wrong. I ended up going to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for lap RNY. The total cost was $12,000 for the round trip air fare, surgery, 4-day hospital stay, 10 day resort hotel stay, all doctors fees, etc. The only extra money I spent was my personal shopping. I re-financed my pickup with my local bank for the $12,000. That was in August. I've lost 95 pounds since then and wouldn't trade that experience for anything. I feel great and am almost at goal. Please don't give up, there may be other options for you. I know what it's like to really want this surgery and not be able to get it. It's heartbreaking... I'll pray for you.
