Anymore news in Kansas?
Hi Steph,
Don't be bummed out. No matter where you go, it is going to be a wait. Try to keep that in mind. Everyone, even the patients are going nuts right now, trying to get this to happen.
It was very irresponsible of CMS to just put the memo out the way they did without any warning or grace period. But all we can do is write our Congressman, Senators and other officials to see if that makes any difference. I for one have written them all, but it doesn't seem to matter much.
Geez, sorry, I was typing this to make you feel better...lol Take care and stay in touch. {{{hugs}}}
I know, but I guess I was hoping that since the hospital that Dr. Keith operates out of has their COE that I could waltz right in and have surgery soon. Apparently since they are so far behind on even looking at patient packets that everyone else had the same idea to go to Dr. Keith. Oh well I know it is all in God's hands and whatever his plan is for me I will accept it even if it is just to hurry up and wait. Steph.
I'm afraid writing your senator or anyone else is an act of futility. I can't tell you how many veterans have called/visited Senator Brownbacks office trying desperately to get help getting the disability they need. These are this countries Hero's. Combat wounded soldiers. He talks a big talk while they are there. But as soon as they leave he forgets all about them. No help ever comes. If he doesn't care about them why would he care about us? We're just fat people. This whole mess is more discouraging than all the failed diets put together. I'm trying to work with Dr. Keith as well. Everyone who does is starting over including the seminar. He said I could watch a film instead but that is the same as the seminar. He just won't accept what the docs here have already done. The arrogance in this field is pathetic. I've been poked, prodded, tested and psychoanalyzed to death. I'll do it all again if necessary since I'm doing it to survive but I'm going to be a little grumpy about it.
