Topic: Need Help Planning My "Goal Trip"

Ok, so as of today, I'm at 148.2, only 3.2 lbs. away from GOAL!   I have decided to reach my original goal first before I decide whether I want to revise goal and go lower.  A friend on here suggested that so that just for some reason I don't get to a lower revised goal that I don't feel like I've failed.  Because I will have reached everything I set out for and that is a HUGE accomplishment and not to sell myself short.  That sounds very wise to me, because I HAVE reached ALL the goals I have set out for and then some extra ones! My last goal is 3.2 lbs. away and I'm so anxious to achieve this goal that I can't stand it...WHICH NORMALLY MEANS IT WILL TAKE ME AWHILE TO GET THERE LOL - because it seems like anything I'm impatient for I end up learning the value of patience having to wait on it.

SSSOOOOOOOOOOOOO, in saying all that, my husband said when I starte this journey that when I met goal, he would take me on a small trip somewhere.  So, please share your experiences on where to go and stay cuz I have NO CLUE!  We are fairly budgeted so I don't want too expensive, but enough to enjoy it. Ya know?  I've been looking into Myrtle Beach and Virginia Beach, possibly somewhere in Florida.  I've never really been anywhere so I have no clue.  He even said we could go to the Caribbeans for a 3 day trip.  We won't be going until summer time, but I would like to get everything lined out early so I can be prepared.  Thanks in advance for your all' help!

Just curious if you were able to have surgery today!  I'm hoping since there is no post saying it was cancelled, that it wasn't.  Hope everything went well!!

Topic: Update on my husband, DUANE
Hello all~ I have not been on OH since September 2010. My husband, Duane has been very active on this board and he has had multiple health issues (not Gastric Bypass related).

The cliff note version (because we started week 21 yesterday)
Type A Aortic Dissection with Aneurysm
Bowel obstruction
Hernia
Blood clots in lungs and legs
Infection
and now the latest: malnutrition and malabsorbtion (because of our gastric bypass how we get and process nutrition is different than pre-surgery)

We were sent to a facility that is an affiliate of St. Vincents to build up and work on Duane's nutrition levels.  Needless to say: after a talk a couple of weeks ago they stated they could do nothing more for Duane and 90% of patients with his severity of malnutrition die.  This was not acceptable to me.  PRIOR TO THE DR.S  TALK -- I had called our gastric bypass Dr to advise her of what was going on.  Only to find ------>>>she had never been consulted on Duane's case.  For 2 1/2 months my husband has been starving to death. **Needless to say, I asked for a transfer to St. Vincent Carmel.  Duane is getting better, however it is going to be a LONG, SLOW ROAD.

Due to issues with heart stopping, low blood pressure, and labored breathing; Duane is on a vent and has a trach.  Therefore, he is in a sedated/coma state.

I appreciate those of your, especially on the exercise board keeping people updated.  I will try to get on here more frequently and update you all.

This has been mentally and emotionally draining to go through all of this.  It is happening to Duane's body but I am also going through all this as well.

We would appreciate your prayers, support, positive vibes and mojo.  Hopefully, Duane will be on here soon updating his own posts.

Thanks  ~Alisica~

I am 7 months out from RNY and am starting to look into plastic surgery. There is a ps surgeon in Columbus, IN named Dr. Jackson, don't know how good he is or if theres a very reputable surgeon close so I can go there.  Thanks for any help.  I will be a self pay patient and have to probably get a loan.

I was very nervous that they would cancel my surgery too, but you know what everything went fine. I was scheduled for 8am also & it flew by. My surgery only lasted 1 hour which normally is supposed to last 2.5-4.5 hrs. Clarion was great, just try to relax. Also, I had pre-op class the same day, it was a nasty drive in that morning. Anyways, good luck, hope the snow doesn't stop you, & walk walk walk! And the onQ pump helps, trust me I noticed when I took it out that I should have left it in longer! See ya on the losers bench!
