Congrats on your surgery sorry you had such complications! Take things slow and stay positive!

I am glad that you have the surgery over and making progress. I, too, am dealing with St V in Carmel. How has the adjustment been to get the supplements, water, food and etc in during the day? I am waiting for the insurance acceptance.

Congrats on the successful start of your journey! The sleeve wasn't offered when I had surgery eight years ago, at least not by my surgeon. Can you tell me a little about the surgery? Thanks.

I too can't believe how fast this month is going. When I first started this journey, I thought it would take forever to get to have my surgery, and boom...it's next month!! Wow!!!![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/_shared/images/smiley/msn/teeth_smile.gif)
Thank you so much for telling me about the bowel prep. I thought we would have to drink some of that nasty tasting stuff they give you before you have to have a colonoscopy. My husband and to drink that a few years ago, and it was all he could do not to throw up!!! I can handle the prep diet!!
Are you ready to start your new journey? I'm making lists of things that need to be done before my surgery. I'm also trying to prepare my kids for what's about to happen. My oldest daughter and youngest daughter have alot of questions, but basically, they support me. My middle daughter is totally against the surgery, so I have to use baby steps when I speak of the surgery. I'm also trying to prepare my husband for all the "chores" he will have to do while I'm recovering. I just hope he can handle it all!!
Is it normal to be scared to death and excited at the same time? lol

Hey yall.
Well, the surgery went fine. However, I've had an allergic reaction to the medicine used during the surgery and have scratched 40lbs almost off. lol. well, not that dramatic but you get what i mean. ;-)
I stayed in the hospital a little longer because my pain was out of control. So I had surgery on Tuesday morning and came home Friday afternoon. I jumped on the scale just now and on the day of surgery, I was 298lbs and tonight I am 278.5 pounds!!! Thats a total loss of 19.5lbs people!!! I'm so excited!! I am glad I had the sleeve surgery and I can't say enough wonderful things about Dr. Inman.. really she is an amazing doctor but a beautiful soul and person. Thank you so much.
I'll update you all again soon!! Good luck to all those waiting--- I know the anxiety you're going thru... youre almost there!!

When I had surgery they gave us a yellow packet that had questions in it. It covered different situations and scenarios that could happen post op. My best advise is to just have a plan for the good outcomes, but also have a plan in case you have complications. I was one of the unlucky ones to have a few complications. I feel that because I had a plan in place I still healed quickly. Wishing you the best!

Kris,
Alright!!!
Well, it's too bad, but I will probably be already gone when you are there for your surgery. It sure seems everything is happening fast once things got going! I knew this month will fly by and it has! This time last month I was still wondering about getting approval!!
The only other thing they ask us to do is on the day before surgery, do a "bowel prep" diet..if you don't follow this they WILL CANCEL surgery! Basically a backward postop diet where your heaviest meal is breakfast (cereals, toast) no heavy things like bacon sausage eggs...then lunch is the full liquid meal (pudding, mash potatoes, cream soups,etc.)...the last meal is the clear liquids (jello, broths, juices). And of course NOTHING after midnight!!! I still have to follow this even though surgery isn't until 12:30pm and that's if there are no delays! Maybe that will be a blessing, I should truly have an empty stomach/bowel by then! lol!

Hello! I hope you're doing well. ***UPDATE*** I have a date!!!
Heather called me yesterday to inform me that my surgery will be on Thursday, March 3rd at 8 am. I'm soooo nervous and excited!!
I'm still waiting on her to call me back with a pre op date and time. I can't believe it!!! Finally!!!
Thank you so much for answering all my questions. I have so many of them! I'm just trying to prepare myself on what to expect. I think the one thing that scares me the most is shots. Isn't that silly? I mean, I'm facing major surgery, and I'm afraid of the shots. Geezz !!! I'm also nervous about having to drink the "paste'. I hope I don't throw up!! How in the world do you contain a burp? lol
It's so nice to have you to talk to about this journey.
