I am having SEVERE gas pains still. I am currently using Miralax to try and help relieve it. OMG, how long will it last?
Yesterday I threw up after eating my second meal at home. Some sf red jello. I have no clue what caused it but was fine after eating cottage cheese and then this morning, sf applesauce.
Anyone else here have severe gas problems right after surgery?

I live in South Bend and I am looking for a surgeon who will perform the RNY to DS revision. If anyone knows of a local doctor, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks,
Brooke
I had mine Jan 12th at St. V's (the pre-op testing).
I DID puke on the barium but it was because I have a very sensitive gag reflex and the clear stuff they give you before the barium didn't sit too well with me.
But they were still able
to complete the test with what stayed down.
Needle wasn't bad... Nothing they did was painful. You will be fine.
But just make sure you take a book or magazine.. or two. Because mine lasted over 5 hours.. it was a snowy day and they were REAL slow. I was alone out in the hall alot. But glad I had a good book with me :)

For anyone who's already had the pre op testing, please tell me that I will make it through just fine. I'm a little nervous about drinking the famous "chalk drink". Also, I'm nervous about having shots in my belly at the hospital and then when I get home. My question for anyone who's already had the surgery is can I get a numbing cream from my doctor? I'm such a big baby when it comes to needles. It's crazy actually, because I've had 3 kids, two epidurals, and a tubal, and I can handle the IV needles and all that, but actually getting shots? I'm scared!!!

I was very impatient waiting for my approval too. It is hard to be patient, esp when you were already on the move and had the OK from one insurance. From my experience all the staff, including Colleen, are wonderful. I would e mail her and she would usually get an answer for me in a day. Her e mail is [email protected]. I know they prefer you call and leave a message, not email, but I found she would get answeres for me much faster than waiting days for a call back! Amy was wonderful, she seemed to be the one I was in touch with most. [email protected] Amy McGuffey. Good Luck!
Yeah!!! Momma Ellen is back!!
I am hoping we can get together soon. Life has been interesting to say the least. You are an inspiration to all of us!
It is good to see some of the familiar faces back on the Indiana board!
Huge hugz,
Tracy
