Topic: Misery Loves Company

So they say "misery loves company" and this miserable soul is looking for company. I have to admit (repent?) that the last three and a half years of my "pouch life" have been pretty much handed to the dogs. I could give you all kinds of excuses if I wanted to but the truth is I took my pouch for granted. Admittedly, 4+ years ago even after surgery I could eat almost anything and not get sick. Even if I dumped, I moaned and groaned and threw up and still went on with the horrible behavior. Now the occasional binge and intentional ignorance, has led to me paying for it. I am about 100 lbs away from where I am supposed to be, when I used to only 35 lbs. away from goal, saddened by the gift I took for granted and perplexed because now that I keep growing in size, I no longer have anymore clothes I can fit into. Financially, I am not in the place in which I can afford a NUT again and I definitely can't just go out and buy a new wardrobe.

Normally I wouldn't do this (put my business out in the public eye), but I am DESPERATE to hear from anyone else that has taken their pouch for granted and successfully come back swinging. IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE??? How did you get back on track? I will take anything that is given--advice or criticism! Thanks.

Topic: RE: LIver Reduction Diet

Hello, Yes I am having my surgery next week, and am on the liver reduction diet, and the dietician at my group did not give me much of anything. so I am really in the dark. I started the diet yesterday and I worried I ruined it when I had a chef salad with grilled chicken and onions. I picked off all the croutons and used a light amt of Balsamic vinaigrette. I am worried about what I am able to eat without ruining everything. I have some chicken out for dinner tonight but am I able to have some green beans or something of the sort. it is to late to call the dietician today. I got a list of ok foods off of KetogenX website. Thank You. I will be looking on these sites also.

Topic: RE: Who had Dr Margaret Inman as their surgeon ?

I'm so sorry you had so many problems, hope it gets better. It's been close to the 2 year mark for me and so far so good. The only problems I had were Strictures the first 3 months out I had to go to St Vincent around 4 times and that was 3 hours away because I live in South Bend. I hope she helps me if I need it because she is the Surgeon who did the surgery and many Doctors don't know anything about Gastric Bypass. Can she abandon a patient is that even legal? When I see her next month I'm gonna see if I need her will she be there for me. Hope you feel better soon.

She did my RNY. She was good until I had problems. Feel free to add me & read my story. It is a long one. I was hospitalized 2 separate times & I know my family Dr called her & she said she had done all she knew to do for me. After a 10 day stay at IU Med Center & one of the Dr's there called her & she pretty much told him the same thing. 2 different Dr's said they were going to report her for patient abandonment if she didn't help me.

She is great as long as you have no issues. This was the worst choice I ever made. It has literally robbed me of my health (that I had the surgery to try to improve my health) and my quality of life. Feel free to add me & read my story.

Feel free to add me on here. I had Margaret Inman, MD for my RNY. My original surgery was at Clarian North, but my many hospitalizations, revision & ultimately the reversal was done at Carmel St. Vincent.

How have things been going with Dr. Inman & the Meridian Surgical Group? Tryng to get cost info as a dejected, totally excluded insured turned self pay pt. May as well be a martian! No return calls after multiple messages and requests for surgeon fees. Sigh!

Topic: St. Francis WLC Indianapolis Southside Anyone?

Hi, Just thought I'd see if anyone else on here has had their surgery, or is a patient at Saint Francis Weight Loss Center on the southside of Indy. Thought it might be fun to connect with others who have used them.

I did my medical weight loss through Dr. Olsen and my gastric sleeve was done my Dr. Shamseddeen. I like them both.
