I am sorry that you had such horrible treatment. My surgeon is Dr. Cacucci. She is in control. I LOVE her. She will make sure you get good treatment. I have seen Kami and I do like her. I have had several surgeries with Dr. C. I am 7.5 years out. I would call and tell them of your complaint. I know Dr. C would jump her case for treating a patient of hers like that.. I don't know about your surgeon, Anyway I AM sorry you were treated like that, It is uncalled for!

wow, I have not been on here for awhile and now hear no DS revisions!  Had my 2 year surgiversity in Jan and have not been back to surgeons office or st Carmel in over a year.  I was pretty disappointed in last treatment.  I am looking into switching if possible to a closer site for follow up care, hope I can do that!

I agree with Beth.  This treatment was awful.  Of course you should be able to ask questions and expect answers!  And be treated with respect!

When did you have your initial surgery?  I had mine 5 years ago and have recently gained back 20 lbs.  It all started when I was put on prednisone for an extended period because of asthma.  I have to jump back on the horse and it is hard!

Anyone know what ever happened to Sweet Sherri who practically ran this site?

Just curious if anyone had him as their surgeon and what your experience was. I've met him once at a seminar and he seemed nice but I know nothing else about him besides what I've read on healthgrades and other sites like that.

Dr.Inman is the only one that does DS in the state of IN

On the journey to losing weight, your friends & family will be the first people to try to knock you off. They do this not out spite, but out of being convicted and knowing they should do the same. It's easier to put someone down for doing the right thing, than for them to actually do it. So at your next family re-union or wherever you are eat your chicken and broccoli and smile when they make jokes about you, they are jealous!

Hi,

I also vote for Dr. Mattar. I had the sleeve, not RNY - but he is great! I didn't realize he no longer was head of the department.

Either way - he is the best!

Best of luck.

I can recommend IU Health.  Pre op care and post op support is excellent.

He was not judgemental in any way. He is very soft spoken, kind, and understanding man. I just had RNY. Guess I don't understand what a revision is. I had done enough research to know that I didn't want the lap band and I've seen so many people who had problems that I'm really happy. He has a large staff that are extremely nice and attentive too. The IU Health Hospital on the north side of indpls ( 116th St and N. Meridian) is where he does the surgery and it has all private rooms and is rather new. One of the things that I like about him is he follows your progress for several years.

We live in Crawfordsville which is 1 hour away so we stayed in a motel near the hospital the night before. You can get a discount if you tell them you are going into surgery at IU Health.

Let me know what you think after you meet him. There are other surgeons in the same group too.

I imagine he is 50ish, from Egypt, and has lots of experience. He was head of the dept until this year.
Good luck with your weight loss.
