While you're there, check into the Duodenal Switch. They were among the pioneers of that procedure, back when it was considered "experimental", about 15 years ago!
U of C has always been on the cutting edge of medical care, so I think you'll be in good hands there.
Dr. Inman did my Duodenal Switch on 2/25/2009. The fact that she is one of only 75 surgeons worldwide who perform that procedure should tell you a bit about her skill. It is much more complex than the other surgeries.
I would say if you want your surgery done right, she's the surgeon you want.
My surgery was covered by Medicare and Medicaid, which I'm assuming is now called Healthy Indiana ?
I have such a high spend-down, that unless my monthly medical expenditures take almost all of my disability check, they pay for nothing.
As for the surgery itself, Dr Margaret Inman did my Duodenal Switch, and I came out with only $25.00 out of pocket.
Let me know what was involved :) Who was your doctor and what surgery was covered? How are you feeling now? Any regrets?
Does anyone else have a fatty liver due to rapid weight loss? IF so, what are you doing about it? I just had a partial hysterectomy Wednesday and the surgeon told my family I had a fatty liver. My family goggled it and it said it could be caused by rapid weight loss. Any info would be appreciated! Thank you.

Dr. Inman did my SRVG in 1997 and will do my RNY in September. She is short, and to the point which I like. No problems with her or the Bariatric Center at all so far.
I hear she is good but I just want to know what you think of her and have you had any problems ?
Mot sure. My therapist is a WLS patient of Dr. Huse and was the one that informed me. If you call the office they can tell you.
Dr. Inman and Dr. Huse were together in 1997 when i had my SRVG at Winona Hospital. Dr. Inman is excellent.
I started in March and will be looking at sometime in Sept. I didnt have to do the 6 month pre op diet since I am a revision but it will still be at least 6 months time in the end for me. When you go there I would just ask them.
The weight has been good though. It has given me ti,e to think and plan. To get my support system together and to get my head right. !
Lets keep in touch along the journey ! On Face Book there is another site Bariatric Friendly that is great ! Great moderator and good people !
Hang in there.......its a wild ride
