Topic: Home from surgery..
My surgery was on Friday the 16th and I came home Sunday afternoon. I had some trouble with Nausea and Vomiting and getting my pain under control. I am feeling pretty good now drinking out of my sippy cup and eating only clears until I go back to see my surgeon tomorrow. Feeling a little neausous today and shakey like my bloodsugar may be low. I sent my husband for some apple juice. Hope everyone else is doing good who had their procedure this month..

Lyn had wonderful insurance--no co pay and no deductible.  So with both of our RNY's we did not have to pay for anything except the psych eval.  When Lyn passed away, I was told I would get to keep his insurance for 2 years with the same benefits.  So the extra $3700 is alot but if I wait until after the 2 year period and get another insurance I am sure I would be paying a deductible and co pay.  Guess I consider myself lucky to have such great insurance and kinda justify that since the other basically didnt cost us anything, I can justify this.  I may try the care credit for part of it.

Dr Bergman was wonderful when I went to see her.  Thanks to everyone here *****commended her.  I had a couple of pictures I had taken with my cell phone of a rash and Dr Huse wrote a letter to her and to the insurance.  She also said if I had anything from a family Dr or prescriptions that would help.

Hi Cybil--I erally didn't think I was ready for PS but at my appt in Nov. the surgeon brought it up and told me he wanted me to pursue it at this time.  I told him I thought I had a lot more to lose but he said my weight had been stable for a few months and that my clavicle bones, hip bones and ect were showing and he thought I had lost enough.  He said I would lose probably 10# with the PS.  I still weigh about 182 and wear a size 10 or 12 in jeans and a medium shirt.  The last scrub pants I bought I had to send the mediums back and get smalls which was great.  I will be perfectly fine with my weight once I get rid of this extra stuff in the front.

Happy Surgiversary to you Shanna.  You were the first one I remember going to surgery after I joined the IN board.  I remember watching each and every word you posted and being so amazed by your journey.  You have really been an inspiration to me.

Have a great day.

I am not as far out as you are... However, have hit a few stalls....

I have changed my diet a little at those times... For me it was as simple as going to a more lean protein... or even different liquid protein source....

I also added more water- which made a big difference...

The most effective way I beat stalls?  I change the direction of my workout wagon.  I work with 2 personal trainers.... They both suggest shocking the system.  If you use the treadmill and bike... hope on the elliptical or Arc Trainer or stair master... When doing weights... look at the weights that work the smaller muscles.  Right now both of my trainers are BIG on burning out my muscles in the workouts.... I literally go until I cannot do one more.... then I do one more...

I saw my neighbor lose so much hair she had blad spots. So I want to avoid that! I went out and got Biotin today - and I am going to watch my protein intake like a hawk. Thanks for the tip about the Biotin - it was on the vitamin aisle for $10.99.
