Our annual co-pay is $1800.00........not great but we've had alot worse! If you have no co-pay you are VERY lucky!

hi christine, did you have an open rny?? i am also wondering, if you don't mind, what sort of scar tissue are you talking about, like what from? another surgery? i worry because i have a large verticle scar but dr jones said it would be no prob to do the rny lap. thank you, laura

Hi, thank you for this wonderful info! Dr RoseMarie Jones is my surgeon, too! Was your rny open or lap? Do you know when you can go back to work? Did you have a huge copay that had to be paid in full before surgery? I have my last visit with Dr Gomez this Thursday and then all my info will be submitted. I'm so anxious, and I'm full of questions, sorry! So happy for you, hope you do awesome and feel better soon! Sincerely, Laura

Hi, I know we all have lots of different insurances and coverage varies. But, in general, does insurance pay 100% of the rny surgery? I had a hysterectomy and another big surgery and never had to pay a penny for a copay. I'm just wondering if this is the general rule??? Probably not, but just wanted to hear your experiences and approx co-pay amounts. Thank you!! Laura

Welcome to the loser's bench! I hope that each day you find more strength and I pray that the pain goes away for you! St. Vincents was a wonderful hospital for me as well. Be good to yourself in the next few weeks!

Topic: had my surgery yesterday

last night was a little rough, i was in a lot of pain, but i am feeling so much better today. i think eating something really helped. they said i am doing so well i should be able to go home this afternoon. looking forward it! i'm so glad my mom came down to stay with me for a week. shes been such a great help!

so far most of the people at st. v have been great. i really liked Emil - he was so good to me last night when I was in so much pain. everyone has been really nice. but i will be glad to go home!
