Laura,
I was told by Dr. Jones I could go back after 2-3 weeks if I did not have to lift. You should be fine with your job. I don't have a lot of pain and haven't since a couple days after surgery. I only took pain meds while in the hospital, I came home on ibuprofen and tylenol. My incisions are sore to the touch. I have 4 small incision one at the top of my stomach one on the right side and left side of my stomach and one inside my belly button. I also had a drain on the left side of my stomach. That is usually removed before you go home. I was pretty tired for a few days and than slowly getting back to normal. Hope this helps.

Oh gosh, no one ever told me 30 days!!! I don't do any heavy lifting at all, just hand instruments to the oral surgeon I work for. I told them at work I would need to be off 2 to 3 weeks at the most. I really pray it's no longer than 2. Thank you so much for all your information. Where was your pain? In your abdomen?? Sincerely, Laura
Topic: RE: Insurance co-pay
Completely depends on your insurance... The only thing I paid for through the entire process was the Psych Eval... Everything else was covered 100%.... It is amazing how I no longer mind paying over $200 a month in premiums!

Laura,
The process for me was very simple. I would think it all depends on what insurance you have. I have Humana and they approved the surgery quickly. I did not have to pay anything before the surgery but do have a copay that I have to pay now. You can call your insurance and ask what your deductable will be. My surgery was a lap and I went back to work after two weeks but that is uncommon and I was in a lot of pain, they really want you to wait 30 days at least. Talk to the surgeon. It also has to do with what you do at work. I am an ER nurse and I lift so it makes it difficult to ask for help all of the time. Well I hope this helped.. Good luck..
