Does anyone know why I would have to have a cortisol test? My friend who went to the same doctor didn't have to. I've googled it but it doesn't make much sence to me TIA Tina

Heres a site that might explain it better. Cortisol has alot to do with how our body stores fat esp when we are under stress. http://www.webmd.com/hw/lab_tests/hw6227.asp I hope this helps Mariah

I had to have mine checked also. I was passing out because my blood pressure was too low. I had no energy either. I found out my adrenal glands weren't working correctly and my cortisol level was too low. I had to take high doses of steroids for ten months to get my level back to normal. I hope everything checks out for you. Stephanie

Thanks for replying. I'm not passing out. But I have no energy and pack most of my weight around my stomach. I hope this won't affect me trying to have the surgery. I just read your profile and seen you have had problems. I'm sorry to hear that if you don't mind what were the problems? And would you do it again? if not that's OK TIA Tina
