Denied

Well my journey has come to an end. WLS is not covered under our companies plan even though I was orignally told it was. So there is no way I can fight this. My husband is considering talking to his company to see if he can get them to add this to the plan. However I do not really see that as an option. We can not risk self pay, because if there were complications insurance would not pay for it. Right now I am rather numb. I am upset. I think my husband and I both got our hopes too high. Which was easy to do considering they stated it was covered and I was actually given a preauthorization number (though it was later canceled). I pray that all those still waiting have better news. you need to find out if it is self insured, meaning does the place your husband works at pays the claims....shoot give gary a call....make sure they are telling you the truth....does your husband have the choice for another insurance co where he works? do not just give up....check into these things

Sherry dont give up. I know the feeling. I had been denied by 2 different insurance companies. It was rough. I finally ended up researching my other options and went to a respected doctor in Mexico. I was able to finance my surgery which was 7000.00 and basically have a car payment each month for about 3 years. I know you are scared of complications, I was too but I figured I better try something because I was only getting bigger and shortening my life. I am now 2 weeks out from my surgery. I got the lap band and was up and walking 1 1/2 hours after my surgery. I have lost a total of 20 pounds and did not take any pain medicines. I know it is rough but keep your head up.
