Rather than waiting on Dan The Travel Man, I went ahead and called Radisson (on Brenda's advise). I was able to get the room reservation...but...with it being for 4 adults, the price was $139/night instead of $120. It will still be $120/night for 2 adults & 1 bed. The number to call is: 1-859-231-9000. Tell them that you are coming for the 'obesity Help conference'. I think I was the first to call because she said that it hadn't been opened up yet, and now it is as far as being able to take reservations on that account. Cool beans, huh? So...Kim, Tammy, & Dawn...it will be $69.50/person instead of the flat $60. If anyone needs the registration form, drop me an email. I have the electronic copy now. When you get it, print it off, fill it out, and then either scan it and email it back to Brenda or fax it to Brenda (by May 1st to get it at the $75 discounted rate). I'll include Brenda's email addy & fax number with the form. Remember... The conference is all day October 27 & 28th. I made our reservations for the nights of the 26th & 27th. There will be sessions on BOTH days for all steps of the journey. On the evening of the 26th (Thursday), there will be a special session for those who are at the stage of considering WLS..a Q&A of sorts. On the evening of the 27th (Friday), there will be a Masqarade Ball (sounds more like a costume party to me). There will be prizes for the best constumes so imagination is a plus!! During the day on the 28th (Saturday), there will be a post-op fashion show. Anyone who is interested in participating should contact Brenda (check out her posts on here or drop me a line & I'll send you her email addy). She will be 'interviewing' candidates in July/August to get some newbies an opportunity to participate as well. You will be required to submit a 1 page story kinda describing yourself..pre/post-op...about like how our profiles on OH are...and some before/after pics. The before pics will be used during the fashion show. Participants will need to be able to make a trip down to Lexington sometime during October (TBD) to try on clothes. I'm still looking for people who are willing to help sponsor others to be able to go. I'm thinking about setting up a paypal account for this. Email me if you'd be willing to do this..and if PayPal would make it easier for you to do it. I am hoping that we can get some sponsorships in prior to the May 1st cut-off for the discounted registration & before the allotted block of discounted rooms are gone. Drop me a line if I can help in any way to enable you (or others) to go. I have a SUV that can hold up to 7 adults....seats are available! Sherri
