Happy Surgiversary to me!!
Can't hardly believe it's been a year. And what a year it's been. 3 hospitalizations for dehydration, 3 endos (1 ulcer and 1 stricture), 1 hospitalization for nausea, 1 picc line, lots of bags of TPN, 98 pounds gone forever, and one new baby who was never supposed to be conceived! Whew, just typing that brings back a wave of emotions. I am such a different person from where I was one year ago today. One year ago, that girl was so sad and angry in her own skin, she didn't like her life or where it was headed. She didn't enjoy playing with her kids (and actually kind of dreaded it).
Today, I'm happy and loving life. I love the size 8 pants I fit into (pre-baby) and size medium shirts (down from size 24 pants and 3XL shirts). I'm loving that people don't even recognize me anymore. I'm loving that my husband and I conceived a miracle baby that we were told would never exist without medical interventions. I'm loving that my husband looks at me in a totally new way and says my butt feels like Charmin TP when he grabs it now! I'm loving that my 9 year old tells me I'm so much more beautiful now (even if in the next breath he tells me I have wings where the skin hangs off my arms). I'm loving that one year ago, I couldn't do one push up or walk for 10 minutes on a treadmill and now I can do numerous push ups, run on a treadmill, run on an elyptical, and have a personal trainer who kicks my butt frequently.
Whew, what a year! To all of you starting your journey, it's a roller coaster. But boy is it worth it! I've been so very blessed to have made a whole new world of friends via OH and count you all among my many blessings this Christmas season!!

Thanks Sandy! Yes, it has been quite a year, but one I would never take back! It's amazing the change I've seen within myself, both physically and emotionally.

Thanks! It definately hasn't been an easy road for me (though I haven't had it as difficult as others), but I'd do it all over again and would advocate for others to do it too. I am a happy 33 year old mom now and not a miserable one! Well worth it and the baby is just a huge shocking bonus!

So happy for you. I'm 52 and have five grown kids of my own and seven grandkids (one more on the way) so I can say that children are one of God's greatest gifts.
Can't wait to hear about it when the miracle baby is born.
