1 yr surgverary and I feel like a failure

Today is my 1 yr surgery anniversary and I somewhat feel like I failed.  I lost 80 lbs in the first 5 mos... which was great... got pg at 5.5 mos and put back on 25 so far.

Don't get me wrong, I am excited about the pg but feel like a failure with the weight loss.  I see so many women get pg with the RNY and don't gain .... or even lose if their not at goal but that's not the case with me.

So, as I sit today.. .I am 28 wks pg.... with a blessing but about 60 lbs from goal... sigh....

Just a bunch of mixed emotions I guess...

First of all, happy surgiversary!  You have a blessing coming.... enjoy it.  You are only 60 pounds from goal.  Where were you a year ago?  Isn't your position much better?  You are only 60 pounds from goal, and having a baby to boot!!  Much better than a year ago, right?  Look at it that way Dani.  You can put your tool back to use after the baby comes.

Dani,

I know things didn't exactly turn out like you planned, but 60 lbs. is doable.  Just think, you are a lot healthier now and you will be after your baby is born.  Hang in there...we're all rooting for ya!  :)

Dani I must say I sure know how you feel.  I also expected my one year surgiversary to be different than it was.  I fully expected to at goal, but I wasn't and I am still not.  It is depressing but we have to keep on going with our heads up.  Continue to make proper eating choices so that you will have good habits when the baby comes.

Once you have given birth pick up right where you left off, you still have your tool.  You can do this!!

Thanks ladies so much for the encouragement.  I really needed it yesterday and today.

I know part of my problem is that before pg I was exercising and loving it.  But I am high risk and have cervical issues... so no exercise for me during pg.  I will pick up after she is here and finish what I started.   Who knows.... maybe even have #3 before I hit 40.
