Make sure you get your protein in and take Biotin capsules.  I will be 10 months out on the 8th.  I never lost any hair.

Thanks for the info! That's wonderful news that you didn't suffer any hair loss. Makes me feel better. I am a worry wart. Going to the first step of the wls process Oct. 21st- the 'seminar'.

Good luck!  Hang on - it's one hell of a ride!  I'm down 110 pounds in less than 10 months.  I don't regret it one bit.

Hi,

I has WLS in April.  They warned me that I would loose my hair.  It was suggested that I take an erbal medicine called Silica from Jamison.  I have been taking it since before the surgery.  About a month ago I stopped taking it for a week as I did not feel it was working, but what a differnence it made.  The amount of hair on the comb after the week of not taking it was double if not triple what it was when I took it.  I went back on it.  It took about a week for the hair to stop falling out, but now it is slowing down again.

I followed my surgeons orders and got in my protein, took the recommended vitamins and got my water in daily.  I have not had a problem with hair loss, I had some hair loss from months 3 - 6 but nothing sugnifigant or worth worring about.  I know some swear by the biotin but  I never took it.  Maybe some of us are just lucky??

I had hair loss likely from low protein. Get plenty! I'll admit, it was hard to go through, but it does grow back, and I'd go through it again, rather than have 150 pounds back!
