I'm hungry!
For the first time since my surgery on October 29, 2008, I'm hungry. I want to eat everything in sight. I have been working from home today and I find myself going to the fridge trying to find something to stuff in my mouth. I had the nerve to have a slice of bacon this morning for breakfast and it has not stopped since. I made turkey meatloaf for the family for dinner (green beans and potatoes) and I have been tasting it all afternoon. I don't even like meatloaf.
What is going on?! It is freaking me out!

I would take pause to consider if something is going on beneath the surface. Are you upset, lonely, sad? What are you trying to fill with food? Or are you genuinely hungry? After some time, we do start to eat somewhat more normally. Keep good foods available to you! It took me a long time to understand, this concept: not full does not equal hungry!!!
Good point and thanks for the reality check. I have been under a lot of stress lately. Work deadlines that are not reasonable always seem to loom over our heads and my Mom has been ill. As her primary caregiver (she lives with us) it has been overwhelming at times. While I thought I was handling it, maybe I'm not really handling it so much as ignoring it. And now it may be catching up with me.
I notice when i am away from home and busy i do not get hungry ,but at home i seem to be snacky hungry.
So i have grapes and cherries and watermeleon cut up so if i get snacky.
Except for yesterday AND i was mad and tired and ate 1 chocolate doughnut and broke the chair and later dumped.
Also my first year i dint get the hungry feeling at all or i just didnt realize it.
Linda gave you words of wisdom.
Huggs and hang in there sweetie
When we eat at any other time than when we are truely hungry it is called emotional eating. I suffer big time, I eat when I am bored. I have tried an emotional eating class and counceling...still a work in progress.
What I have learned is we need to recognize why we are doing it and then replace it with something. When I am on top of my game I will do the treadmill and work off any extra calories I am about to indulge in BEFORE I eat them..........however lol.
