Psyc eval and other pre ops?

Does anyone know if there are pre op tests I can take before I am actually approved for surgery.  I have to do my psych evaluation but since it is a 2 1/2 hour drive I would love to do some other tests while I am there....just wondering....didn't want to sound stupid when I called up there....thanks guys,

I am not sure I can answer your question entirely, however, I read somewhere that since WLS is excluded from my health insurance policy that I should have all my pre op testing done at my Dr's office so that insurance would pay for it and save me some money since i would be a self pay.  I know there is bloodwork involved, as well as, the psych test but other than that I am not sure.....haven't gotten that far yet. :(
Since it's a 21/2 hour drive for you, having the bloodwork done at your local Dr office may be an option for you as well but i would check with your surgeons office first.  :)
