Thanks for all the lovely comments.  I appreciate each one of you for so generously sharing your journey with those of us who need to hear from others who share our struggles and understand our silly wow moments.  You all are sometimes the only thing that gives me strength to carry on through the day, especially those days when I want to quit and have some cake.

Peace and love to you all.

Jeannie,

You look fantastic! I had to look twice at the avatar!! Woo-hoo!

I don't know anything about Dr. Huse as far as for plastics. The Dr. Huse we see listed on here is the one who does WLS. I went to Dr. Deborah Bergman and she is a sweetheart. She will work with insurance's to gain approval if possible...which is something that can't be said about all the local ps'.

I wouldn't wait until you get at a BMI of 25 to have your plastics. Remember that they will be removing skin...and with the skin, pounds. If you wait...you may be told that you have to gain a few pounds so that you won't be underweight when the surgery is completed. Now...wouldn't that be a twist? So...now is probably the perfect time to start having a consult or two.

Congrats Jeannie.  I love your new pictures.  I didn't recognize you either!  You've done an awesome job and thanks for being so supportive and helpful with all us fellow losers.

It may encourage you to know that I lost 57# in my second year after surgery.  I know they say we will lose most of it the first year, but we can continue to lose.  PEW=  Protein, exercise, water is the key.

I obviously didn't have a crystal ball and didn't expect this kind of results, thus I had my TT 14 months after my WLS.  If I had it to do over, I would have waited longer because I lost 45 more pounds after having the TT.  Now my belly is a little flabby because of that and not nice and tight like it was right after my TT.  I'm not complaining, of course, but just wanted to share.

I've heard really good things about Dr. Bergman.  I had Dr. Chris Jones from Sando, Jones, Aker and he did all my PS.  He does wonderful work too and they will try to get your insurance to pay for it.  You just have to prove medical necessity which in my case, my TT was approved.  I had to pay myself for my arms and twin girls but it was more than worth it.

Please tell him I referred you.

You could start checking the process out while you are on your way to your goal.  Go talk to more than 1 surgeon and get quotes from them all.  This process can be very motivational in helping you reach your goal because you have something wonderful to look forward too but I don't mean to imply that having PS is a piece of cake either.  It hurts, but the results are so worth it.

I hope to meet you sometime soon.
