Seems like slow weightloss
I had my surgery on Feb. 24th. As of today I have only lost 72 pounds. I really thought at 5 months out I would be closer to the 100 pounds lost mark. I know I'm not doing the best at eating, but I'm seldom hungry. If I think I am, I still don't eat much. I do very well at getting fluids in though. I'd rather drink then eat.
Jo Anna, What do you mean you've ONLY lost 72lbs? That's great!!!!! Look at how much better you must feel. Look at the size you're down to in clothes now. Don't put yourself on a timeline....especially when compared to other people. If you're doing as you've been instructed then you'll lose what you're supposed to lose, in your own time. Everyone is different. It's hard for me to always accept too. I'm three months out and I've lost right at 100lbs. I'd like to be down more than that but I have to keep reminding myself that I'm doing pretty darned good. I have to answer to nobody but myself and I'm in no competition with anyone else but myself. Hang in there, use your tool and you'll be fine.
Best wishes,
Duane

JoAnna,
Keep in mind that people who have more to lose may tend to lose faster at first. Never ever be discouraged as long as you are following the guidelines your Dr. and NUT have given you. If you are finding liquids more comfortable, is that due to pain? Are you showing signs of stricture? If not, then make sure you are getting your protein in, in the liquid form, and make sure you are taking your vitamins!!! You will get your appeteit back eventually!!
Best of luck,
Lori
