Good morning all!

Well..this morning was a little bit better! I woke up at 2:30 instead of midnight. I went ahead and got up at 3 though and came on in to work. I target getting here at 5...I've been here since 4:15. At least I don't have to worry about falling asleep at my desk today. I came back to work with excellent timing. We're all going to an Indian's game today. Woo-hoo! We were even given a $15 voucher for food while we're there. Now...for the rain to stop! I'd much rather be at Victory Field than at work when the sleepie**** though!

I hope you all have a good day!

Good morning all!

I am up and at em.  I have a big smile on my face.  I feel great!  I have been working with a friend on some new ideas for my support groups and I am excited about it.  I sure hope you all have a great day!  I am looking forward to it myself!

Challenge yourself today to move more, eat healthier, get in your fluids and make that tool work for ya!!!!  Pat yourself on the back for the good things you accomplish and think positive!!!!

Huge hugs,

Morning everyone

Sheri that sounds really fun! Not a bad way to go back to work at all.

Today I'm going to work on my protein and water a lot more. I need to go out and get samples and whatnot.

Does anyone have any tips for sleeping right after surgery? I'm doing the couch now and its kind of bearable but I really miss my bed.

Hope everyone has a dry day

Ayreka, you go girl! Sip by sip is all you can ask. I would be happy to send you some samples of Nectar if you'd like. I have the fuzzy navel and lemonade.

As for sleeping, I slept in my recliner for the first week or so after surgery. It's almost as comfy as my bed!

Ayreka,

I slept in my recliner for at least a week or two..and definately until after the drain was removed. Do you still have that? You'll start feeling alot more comfortable as soon as it is gone.

When you go to get your samples, be sure to ask if there have been any recalls on any of them recently. I remember there being one just a week or so ago and it really seems like it was on the bullets. I don't remember what it was for though. Definately buy small though. When I had a bullet, I could not get myself to swallow that jell and ended up throwing it away. I  couldn't stand most of the protein products on the markets. I mix up my own concoction now using the cheap chocolate protein powder from WalMart (I add instant decaf coffee, powder milk, and instant sf hot cocoa with it to get the mocha java flavor I like).

I got a couple of flavors of bullets. Yuck. I also got some nectar so we'll try that. I think I just need to look up some recipes and get some cheap stuff.
I've lost 12 pounds in the two days I've been home. Is that normal?

The 12 pounds you have lost is water weight, and yes it's normal. They pour the IV fluids in you while you're in the hospital. It has to come out after you come home. Keep up the good work!

I slept in the recliner the first few days, I tried my bed over the weekend and found that I was more comfortable and slept better since I didn't have the animals stirrig all night. My bed is higher then anyone of our couches.

Have a wonderful day.

Hugs

I woke up this morning bright and early!  At about 5:30, Charlie (my dachschund pup), loudly announced that he had snuck a squeaky toy into his kennel last night when he went to bed.  If he wasn't so stinkin' cute...   So, I got up and took the dogs out, made coffee, and sat on the porch with a book for some centering time until it started raining again.

To be honest, I'm feeling quite cranky this morning and really wish that I could have the day to myself.  But, my husband has been off yesterday and today and he's really getting on my nerves!  I love the man dearly, but he's driving me nuts.  I've been trying to be extra quiet, since he's still in the bed right now.  It probably doesn't help that I am on my period for the first time in a couple of months (TMI, sorry), and I feel like crap because of it.

Yesterday, I had meetings all day with a rockin' headache to boot.  When I got home, my husband had an agenda for the rest of my day planned.  He "just needed a little help with a couple of things."  So, instead of planting some flowers and doing some things that I needed to accomplish, I spent the afternoon/evening pulling up fence posts and putting a motor back together on our riding mower.  UGH.  It wasn't that I cared to help him....BUT...later, before we went to bed...We were talking about hoeing the garden today and he made a smart ass comment that really ticked me off.  Something to the effect of, "Well I guess I'll do it myself, since you COULD have already done it."  Which I took as implying that I don't do anything around here!  I feel like I do everything and still help him with his projects!

Oh man.  Thanks for letting me vent.  The bear is up.  We'll see how the day goes!
