I don't know if I'll be able to or not. I'd have to leave work about 3 hours early to make it there in time to meet you.

Dr. Bergman is wonderful to talk with. The first time I met her, I thought she was an office worker! She is just so down to earth!! With all the problems I've had in the past 2 years, she has been right there for me & my family. She assisted Dr. Gupta with two of the surgeries..and Anthem only paid her $100 one time and $200 the next. She has never even blinked an eye over it. Trust me. You would not get that kind of dedication or compassion out of some of the other area surgeons.

Go in with your list of questions...and be honest with her. Tell her your fears. I think you will find that she will have you very calm and relaxed by the time you leave that first appointment.

Your support of Jodi is great, but please don't dismiss anxiety as a "fat" issue.  Anxiety and phobias are completely different and are biologically based.  What we experience as fat people is social anxiety, which is just nervousness and can be overcome....

I didn't think she was dismissing it...just letting her know other people have issues, phobias, anxiety, etc...and understand and that she is not alone and here to support her.  Sounds like you are dismissing "fat anxiety" as nervousness and that it can be overcome....perhaps a more extensive look into it would help you understand it better than what you are dismissing it as. Some people have been dibilitated by it as well. 

I find it interesting that someone would say this site is not positive and encouraging and supportive yet when one tries to be, they slam that person.  WHATEVER.

Jodi, I hope you saw the message as I intended it.  I don't mean to be disrespectful and DISMISS anyone's situation or feelings.  I truly was trying to help. Hope no one else would have read into it as negatively.

Jodi, I struggle with depression, anxiety and also phobias and I know how you feel. I could make it there after the Edinburgh get together since I'm assuming that won't last past 1:30ish sooo let me know where the office is maybe PM me the address and I'll mapquest it and I'd be more than happy to join you if you'd like.

Why would you say something like that that has come across showing you being mean spirited? 

I have NEVER said my problems were more then nor are they less then anyones. They are my own. Yes, Linda V has had her uncecessary share of pain with the death of Maggie. Nothing I have is even near her pain - just as her's is not near my pain. 

 

Your statement was R U D E ! A pansy ass way of saying "suck it up. So & So has it worse then you".

I have a right and privilege of living my life and dealing with my own trauma and emotional scares without having to have it scored resonable or unresonable by anyone. That includes you. 

I hope in the future you can be a little more sensitive to other people feelings w/o feeling the urge to point out when you feel their pain, fears, phobias, or other emotional problems are valued or not based on your personal scoring system.
