Frustrated...this stinks!! ....and a wow moment too!
I can totally relate with the lady that posted about the long stall. I've been in a stall for MONTHS! January I hit 100 lbs lost, but from Jan-Mar I only lost another 10 lbs or so. The surgeon told me since my last visit (3 months ago) I've lost 1 pound. Are you kidding me?!?!? ONE pound?? GRRRR! She told me that I've probably gone as far as I can with diet alone and now I need to "move". Ugh...exercise. I was doing so well at exercising in the beginning and now I can't seem to get it together. That's why I'm so frustrated...I know how to fix the problem, I just can't seem to do it!!
I'm now 1 yr post op and I feel like it's going to be harder to lose from here on out and I still have 50+ pounds to lose! People keep telling me that I look like I'm still losing, but I don't think I am... I think it's just that I'm finally wearing clothes that are the proper size for me and it makes me look smaller than I did wearing my baggy clothes.
Speaking of that...I guess I did kind of have a wow moment the other day at the yard sale at Linda Kays house. They handed me some jeans and told me to go try them on. I was skeptical because they were two sizes smaller than the ones I just bought last month, but I tried them on anyway and was shocked when they fit. I don't know if it was because they were a different brand or what, but I tried on several different pairs in that size and they all fit! Woo hoo!!
If you're still reading this...thanks for letting me ramble on and vent! I knew you guys would understand my frustrations!

I have found that the best form of exercise is one I enjoy. If I don't enjoy it, I won't be doing it very often! Trust me! I love walking outside and dancing to tunes on my MP3. I hate the treadmill.
The biggest problem with exercise is that people often choose something they consider work. Afterall, no pain, no gain. Right? Wrong! Your surgeon said 'Move'. She did not say that you had to do 50 push-ups a day. So when choosing which exercise to do, think about what you find is enjoyable. My boss (non-WLS) lost weight and has been doing great at maintaining the loss by riding his bike. He typically does 10-25 miles daily and chooses courses which gives his legs a real work out.
Tiffany is like me and she puts her MP3 on and goes into the kitchen to get down with the songs.
Many people choose water arobics..or just plain swimming (which is what I'd do if we had a pool!).
You can make your exercise something that you'd be having fun with the girls at the same time. How long has it been since you've played tag? Or red light/green light?
I can't wait until I get the green light from my surgeons to start getting some exercise in again. Trust me, I will not be doing sit-ups! LOL!
Remember....MAKE IT FUN!!!

ps..start measuring on AT LEAST a monthly basis if you aren't already. It is encouraging when we don't see the scales move any to see the inches go down. That signifies that you are gaining muscle. Muscle is good!
