wedding rings

I am sure almost everyone has had the problem of rings becoming to big as fingers shrink. My have been too big for awhile. My temp solution was to buy a smaller plain band and put that in front of my wedding ring. However they are now spinning around my finger. When is a good time to get them sized smaller? I probably will lose more weight. I don't have a number goal in mind, just want to be healthy. Whatever weight my body stops at is O.K. with me. Should I wait a year before I have my rings sized? I would wait until your weight stabilizes.  I had mine sized down when I was approaching my goal, about eight months out.  I had them made to just fit.  However, I have learned that during the losing process my body mass was more jello-like than after my weight stabilized.  After reaching my goal and staying there a while and gaining my 10 pound "bounce-back" my body is firming and my rings are just a bit tight on most days.   I can still get them off at night, most nights, but some nights it is a struggle and some nights I just give up.
Ring sizing isn't too expensive (about $20) but not something you want to do only to have done again.

I had my original wedding band and engagement ring that I used to wear. It has antiquing on it, and cannot be resized easily. I outgrew it, and got a beautiful three-stone diamond ring for Christmas one year before surgery. That got too big, and I moved back into the originals. Then they got too big also. I bought a plain band. When I got to my goal, I had my three-stone ring resized. From a 13 to a 7!!!

Go to your local jeweler.  They can put a temp sizer in there for you.  I have that on one of my rings, and will be going back to have my 3 diamond ring temp sized.  They're spinning around, and liable to fly off if I flick my fingers!  A wonderful problem to have....

I am struggling with this too. Trying really hard to wait a while longer, but I'm about to put my ring on my necklace for fear of losing it.

Oh heck!!!  I am the only one not sentimental about rings??  I quit wearing them.  I wore some silver band for a while, then I put my engagement diamond in an awesome new setting.  Bye-bye yellow gold!!!

I would've LOVED replacing my set with a new one (we've been married just 8 years, but we both dislike my current rings), but it just isn't in the budget!

Last summer I was wearing a temp sizer by 3 months post op, because my hands shrunk so fast.  It got to where the temp sizer wasn't cutting it anymore, so for my birthday at the end of August, I had my set cut down to my current size and had the solder removed.  They went from a 8.25 to a 5.25, and even though I've since lost another 40 lbs or so, my ring size hasn't changed.  They are spinny on my finger when I'm cold, but they still fit over my knuckle.

I was pretty confident my fingers wouldn't get much smaller, as my ring size when I graduated high school was a 5, and I'm just now 20 lbs under that weight.

When we got married i got a cheap set and then i was given one that belonged to my gmal and my aunt had wore it.
But when we hit 15 years Neil bought me a new set and now they are all to big .
When i was digging thru clothes at the outlet they slid off and i now only wear them we go someplace important.
It is a great thing them being to big ...
